If you are frustrated with systems and policy that perpetuate injustice and unfairness, why not work to shape policy to improve the lives of people living on low-incomes or experiencing disadvantage. Most policy work is done by advocacy and peak bodies, but some service providers also have policy teams that build on frontline experience to provide advice as to how things can be done better. Policy roles provide opportunities to speak to the media and give evidence to inquiries and committees. If you feel passionately about changing our community, then policy work might be your thing.
