DLOs work in a variety of sectors including our community’s; legal, domestic and family violence, housing and homelessness, health and disability services. These roles focus on ensuring that community services are culturally safe and accessible for people with disabilities and raising awareness of the issues disproportionately impacting people with disability within the organisation. A commitment to social justice is critical and these roles present opportunities to demonstrate and develop experience in community education and development, facilitating workshops, understanding of human rights and advocacy.
