About the Position: As the Hepatitis Community Educator, you’ll lead our program delivering essential viral hepatitis information, education and health promotion. Focusing on priority populations, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and people from high prevalence communities, you’ll champion Hepatitis ACT’s mission. Part-time – 22.5 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
- Forge partnerships with key community figures and organisations, facilitating the dissemination of hepatitis information in multiple languages.
- Represent Hepatitis ACT in pertinent meetings and committees, advocating for those affected by viral hepatitis.
- Coordinate and execute educational activities, including presentations and information sessions.
- Maintain program records confidentially and contribute to material development and evaluation efforts.
- Utilise administrative tools such as the Microsoft Office suite efficiently.
Essential:
- Qualifications and/or experience in education, community development, or health promotion.
- Strong interpersonal skills, fostering connections with diverse communities.
- Ability to design and deliver impactful education programs, especially in viral hepatitis prevention.
- Capacity to work both collaboratively and independently within a small team.
- Proficient in written and oral communication and administration, including Microsoft Office.
- Possession of a current driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
- Willingness to obtain Working with Vulnerable People registration and undergo a National Police Check.
Desirable:
- Understanding of viral hepatitis and related health management needs.
