Clinical psychologists work closely with individuals, families, and small groups as they tackle psychological problems and other challenges in their lives. Clinical psychologists assess and treat people struggling with mental illnesses such as depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, and eating disorders. Clinical psychologists also work with people with autism spectrum disorder and ADHD. Clinical psychologists may choose to specialise in a particular area of psychology or with a particular group of people, like the LGBTIQA+ community or young people.
